FAQs

Do I need a referral?

At KARE Health Centre we see patients that do not have a referral from a GP. Many of our patients are referred from physicians and specialist but this is not essential.

How long is a normal treatment session?

Initial Consultations usually last between 45-60 minutes
Subsequent Consultations usually go for 30 minutes
Every patient will be given an individual exercise program. You will be free to use our gym facility for as long necessary following your consultation.

How often will I need to come for treatment?

Your treatment plan will be made and based following your initial assessment and will detail how often you need to attend as well as how long treatment will take and what the treatment will involve. Each plan will be specific to the degree of injury or disease

What should I bring to my consultation?

If you have been referred from another practitioner or Doctor, please bring this referral with you. Other things that you might have that may be of use include:

  • Any recent investigations to the area such as x-rays or ultrasounds.

  • Any claim details should you be under a worker's compensation or compulsory third party claim.

What if I need to cancel my appointment?

Please be advised that unattended appointments and late cancellations within 3 hours of a scheduled time may incur a fee. We will do our best to call you to remind you of your appointment the day before your consultation.

What types of payment do we accept?

If you have a medicare referral, your sessions are completely bulk billed. Otherwise. you can claim your treatment through your private health fund. At each of our clinics we have HICAPS available which allows you to claim on the spot. Please ensure you have your health fund care with you when you arrive at the appointment so we can process your claim. Depending on your level of cover you may need to pay the remainder of the consultation fee, so please ensure you have enough funds to cover the gap. We accept cash, cheque, EFTPOS, Visa or MasterCard.
